I can be somewhat of an odd duck. I could go into my personal likes and dislikes for a few weeks on this blog and not hit all the more stranger things. For example, I do not like Oreo cookies. At all. I don’t like the texture, I don’t like the dryness, I don’t like the oily taste in my mind.
I am also not generally a sweets kinda guy.
The few I do like are usually simple. Plain vanilla ice cream. Chocolate chip cookies. Apple pie. My great-grandmother’s chocolate pie. However, I have been opened to the aspects of Fine Dining desserts.
And oh man, my waistline is something i have to watch.
My daughters love to watch the cooking shows on Netflix and the like. I have seen the TV switch between cartoon and cooking shows multiple times a day. It can be a bit terrifying to see one second there is Spiderman to another Gordon Ramsey. My Little Pony vs Master Chef Jr. fights are not uncommon in my house.
Now most of these desserts are not on the cheap side. Being apart of the higher level of cookery that is required to make such delectable delights, it also comes to mind that the cost goes up. They usually are following a big meal, wine and other such great luxuries that most of us cannot afford on a regular basis.
Or can we?
I have often found wonderful places that make such edibles that populate most cities. These mom and pops places are fantastic and bring love and joy into the food and keep things reasonably priced. We want something better for a special occasion. We want the elite level of dining.
I would propose to you that you find a wonderful, high quality restaurant, make a reservation, and just order the dessert. Instead of a $150 dollar a person dinner, we get this to a much more reasonable price. Now this might be more than we spend on an entire meal, you get to have one of the best parts of dinner. Dessert. Mind blowing, amazing, decadent dessert. You get to live a bit of the high life.
You get to pick up your spirits.
You get to lift your soul.
You get to take care of yourself.
